Llorente with the Coppa Italia - Juventus LazioFernando Llorente has admitted that nobody at Juventus imagined that at this stage of the season they would still be on course for an historic treble.

The Bianconeri have already sealed the Serie A title and secured the Coppa Italia courtesy of Alessandro Matri’s extra-time winner against Lazio on Wednesday night, but now the focus has switched to next month’s Champions League final against Barcelona with Llorente knowing the up-hill task that awaits.

“It will be hard to beat Barcelona because they are the strongest team in the world,” Llorente told Mundo Deportivo.

“They are in great form, but we’ll try to play our game and win.

“[Lionel] Messi, Neymar and [Luis] Suarez? Messi is the number one but the others aren’t jokers.

“We never imagined reaching this point at the start of the season, we are still on course for everything.

“It is a shame to have lost the Supercoppa Italiana against Napoli, it would have been the perfect season.”

Llorente then continued to discuss his future with the club and hoped that Paul Pogba would stay in Turin.

“I have a two year contract and I’m happy here. Pogba, he can become whatever he wants, I hope he continues at Juventus for many years.”
