Despite their relegation, the president of Cesena Giorgio Lugaresi spoke with confidence about the future of his team.

In the second to last game of the season Cesena lost 0-1 to Cagliari thanks to a late goal by Marco Sau. However, the president was optimistic about the future.

“As the league is over, I believe is important to let the city know that we want to start over,” Lugaresi told Radio Rai. “With a new project that can be satisfactory to the supporters and to the new coach that will lead the team.

“I want to give to [Rino] Foschi [the sporting director] a budget that will allow him to work at his best.

“What about the coach? We haven’t talked about it yet. The talk about the coach has to start from Foschi, he has to be sure of the choice. When he will be sure, then I will step in for the technical aspects [of the team].

“What about the future? We are confident. We showed that our city is able to compete with more famous ones. We deserve to make dreams also for the future.

“What about Di Carlo? The technical aspect is overlooked by Foschi, I only try to make the ends of the club meet.”
