Empoli forward Massimo Maccarone has tipped teammate Daniele Rugani for a role in the Juventus first-team next season.
The 20-year-old Italian youth international has been in imperious form at the back for Empoli this season, and will return to the Bianconeri at the end of the season after his loan spell finishes.
Maccarone, speaking to reporters at the presentation of former Empoli star Carmine Esposito’s autobiography, also had some words to say about his other teammate Mirko Valdifiori who has been interesting AC Milan and Sampdoria.
“I think Valdifiori has shown he can play at this level. He will be one of those that leave Empoli next season, and he deserves an important opportunity,” Maccarone said.
“Rugani ready for Juventus? He is a great professional that takes care of every little detail, and truthfully it is very hard to finish young people like him.”
