Hellas Verona coach Andrea Mandorlini was delighted with his side’s final day draw at home to Juventus as it ended the season on a positive note.

A frantic final 10 minutes saw Carlos Tevez miss a penalty before Juanito Gomez saved a point for the Gialloblu with a last-minute equaliser.

“This was a worthy end to a great season, we’ve picked up 100 points over the last two seasons in Serie A.”

Mandorlini also spoke about Luca Toni who sits top of the goalscoring charts.

“It’s [Capocannoniere] an award he is close to getting, but we still need to wait and see what [Mauro] Icardi does,” said Mandorlini.

“He’s a great champion who deserves to win this accolade.”

Mandorlini was vague when speaking about his future as his contract expires in the summer.

“I don’t know what the future holds but today I saw a game where we didn’t deserve to lose.

“I’ve spoken to the president in general but not about contracts.

“We’ll meet each other soon, this week we’ll see if we still have the same ideas.”

The Mastini boss also joked about his jubilant celebrations after his side’s equaliser.

“I was close to my side after we got the draw and certainly not worrying about the 10 goals we conceded to Juventus in the preceding games.”
