Mandorlini - Hellas VeronaHellas Verona put in their worst half in five years in their 2-2 draw away to Parma, according to coach Andrea Mandorlini.

The 54-year-old, who took over in 2010, was pleased with how they responded to going two goals down though and paid great tribute to Luca Toni – who has now moved on to 21 goals for the season.

“We played badly in the first half, perhaps the worst performance since I have been here,” he said to Sky Sport Italia. “Luckily, we got a goal by Toni before half-time. We talked in the dressing room and went out with a different attitude.

“Toni knows exactly what to do in the area. He is always ready and we hope that he can finish top scorer. The team must also be congratulated, they always put him in a position to score. As a forward, experience counts for so much – look at players like Toni and Di Natale.

“I am enjoying how he plays and we will get ready for the challenge of Juventus. It will be a great victory for  us if Toni finishes top of the scoring charts.”
