Roma’s Kostas Manolas praised his side’s complete performance in their 2-0 win over Genoa at the Stadio Olimpico, on Sunday afternoon in Serie A.
Seydou Doumbia and Alessandro Florenzi sealed the win for Roma, in a game they dominated in the first half but had to hold on to in the final moments.
The Greek centre-back was pleased that Sunday’s performance was rewarded with three points, something he admitted had been missing from Roma this season.
“This time, as well as providing the performance, we managed to get the result,” Manolas said to Sky Sport Italia.
“We are happy as a team; we scored five goals and didn’t concede any for the second successive game.
“I always try my best in defence but when we all work hard together [like today] then the results come.”
The win allowed Roma to leapfrog city rivals Lazio into second, following the Aquile’s draw to Atalanta.
