Chievo coach Rolando Maran is keen to ensure that the club finish the season with a flourish against Fiorentina.
A win against the Viola would confirm Chievo’s improvement on last year’s 16th placed Serie A finish, and Maran wants a team who are not ready to take their foot off the gas a game early.
“We would like to close the season well, with a good performance against Fiorentina,” the Italian told the pre-match conference.
“The renewal of my contract has given me more pride and a greater sense of responsibility.
“We are already thinking about the end of the season, but in any case I want a team focused on Fiorentina.”
The Gialloblu are currently 14th in the Serie A standings, and could finish as high as 11th with a victory, while results going against them could see another 16th placed finish arrive.
51-year-old Maran linked up with Chievo in October of last year, replacing Eugenio Corini at the helm.
