Juventus sporting director Giuseppe Marotta has commented on the club’s rumoured hunt for a new striker, providing some clarification over the side’s transfer targets.

Both of Paulo Dybala and Edinson Cavani have been strongly linked with the Bianconeri recently, but while Marotta has confirmed that the former is imminent, he has ruled out the possibility of signing the latter.

“For Dybala, we have met several times with Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini, and once we confirm the details we can conclude,” said the Italian to Rai Sport.

Doubts over the futures of current striking duo Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente remain, fuelling rumours that Massimiliano Allegri’s side could be poised to swoop for Paris Saint-Germain’s Uruguayan hitman, but Marotta has rubbished these claims as untrue.

“Cavani, however, is not a realistic target.”

Argentine Dybala, who Rosanero coach Giuseppe Iachini admitted will definitely leave in the summer, has 13 goals from 33 Serie A appearances so far this season.
