Mauri - LazioLazio captain Stefano Mauri says his side must get a result against Napoli next weekend and qualify for the Champions League after they lost the Derby della Capitale 2-1 to Roma on Monday evening.

After a goalless first half the game exploded into life late in the second half when Juan Iturbe gave the Giallorossi the lead before Filip Djordjevic equalized only for Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa to net the winner with five minutes remaining.

“Today was bad, losing the game and now we have to go to Napoli and get a result,” Mauri told Sky Sport Italia after the game.

“It won’t be easy to get a result there, but we must get one to reach the preliminaries of the Champions League.

“It hard for us to take the result today as we played well, we kept the ball well and gave Roma very little.

“Perhaps we need to be smarter tactical as Roma play very deep and we needed to be smarter to get between the lines.

“We have to look ahead now and make sure we get a result against Napoli at all costs.”

The Biancocelesti need at least a point from the game against Napoli next Sunday night to qualify in third place for the playoffs of the Champions League next season.
