Gary Medel is disappointed that Inter have failed to achieve European football for next season, but he remains happy and knows that the results are slowly coming their way.

The 27-year-old joined from Cardiff City at the beginning of the season to add a more combative side to the Nerazzurri midfield and has featured heavily for the club, and he has no regrets about joining Inter.

“I am very happy to be here and to have chosen Inter, I’m very happy,” Medel told Chile’s national broadcaster TVN.

“It’s true that we haven’t reached our goals for this season but the results are coming, albeit slowly.

“It was an important change for me after spending a year playing in the Premier League.”

The Chile international then turned his attentions to the upcoming Copa America.

“[Alexis] Sanchez is the player who makes the difference for us, he must be our [Lionel] Messi.

“[Arturo] Vidal is a great player, but Sanchez is our game-changer.

“We fully believe that we can have a great tournament on home soil, but we must be wary of our opponents.”
