Vicenzo Montella FiorentinaFiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella is focused on Sunday’s Serie A clash with Chievo, and doesn’t expect a decision over his future just yet.

The Viola take on the 14th-placed Flying Donkeys at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in the final fixture of the campaign, aiming to overhaul Napoli in fourth spot with victory.

“It’s been a very positive year,” said Montella in his pre-match press conference.

“If we had reached one of the two cup finals it would have been perfect.”

Montella is scheduled to attend a meeting with co-owner Andrea Della Valle ahead of the game to determine the long-term vision of the club, and whether the sought-after 40-year-old will play a part in it.

“I’ve been pondering a lot over the last few days. Today we will see what happens,” explained the former Catania boss.

“We have to clarify what we want to do, and how much money we have available.”

“We still have the objective to at least keep hold of fifth place. Then we’ll see, but we must finish the season in the best possible way in front of our fans.

“Then I’ll have to get an understanding of what the common goals are between myself and club, and how we can achieve them.

“I don’t think it will be a decisive meeting. In the event anything does get settled, then the club will announce it.”
