AC Milan legend Alessandro Nesta believes that the Diavolo are in a state of confusion at the moment as they hunt for continuity, but hopes to see things change for the better in the near future.

The Rossoneri are currently in 11th place in the Serie A standings after failing to win in their past five matches and the 39-year-old admits that the club hasn’t been taken care of properly as of late, especially when compared to the way things were during his time there.

Nesta spoke to Sky Sport Italia about AC Milan’s current problems and touched on the recent success of his other former club Lazio as well, while also commenting on Tuesday’s Champions League clash between Juventus and Real Madrid.

“I hope that Lazio can achieve Champions League qualification this season,” said the legendary defender.

“Stefano Pioli has been doing great work for the club, so I want to congratulate him for that.

“As for Milan, instead this club has been going through a particularly difficult moment, where you can see they’re suffering from a bit of confusion.

“The team has also been in poor shape lately and suffering on their own, but I hope everything will be resolved quickly.

“[Milan president Silvio] Berlusconi? I haven’t seen him around. There aren’t really any presidents like there once were, people who had invested a lot into various clubs.

“The match between Juventus and Real Madrid? I’ll be cheering for Juventus. It will be a very difficult game and I hope it’s played openly, not as a defensive match.

“Carlo Ancelotti and Massimiliano Allegri belong to two different generations, but are similar in some ways.

“They both like to make football fun, without the excessive stress.”
