The agent of Sunderland midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini has stated that his client will remain with the Black Cats next season, stating a reported move to AC Milan will not happen due to the Rossoneri’s ‘non-winning project’.

The 30-year-old recently celebrated as Sunderland clinched their future in the Premier League for another season after a 0-0 draw with Arsenal on Monday, and his agent Furio Valcareggi revealed that the Italian is looking forward to his future at the club along with making a return to the Italy national team.

“He will remain at Sunderland,” Valcareggi told Tuttomercatoweb at the Memorial Niccolo Galli.

“The squad has achieved safety and now that he has recovered from his injury I won’t exclude that [Antonio] Conte will also remember about him.

“Milan? It is not a winning project. They must look after costs and now coaches are not joining Milan. The project can’t be to become older and if you come second you lose.”
