Torino sporting director Gianluca Petrachi has revealed that no Granata players have asked to leave the club this summer and that the club have learned the lessons from Alessio Cerci’s departure last summer.

Having qualified for the Europa League last summer, the club promptly lost their two most valuable assets in Ciro Immobile and Cerci with the latter leaving right before the end of the window, giving the Granata no time to find a replacement, and Petrachi is clear on their strategy this time around.

“We were left a little burned by the Cerci saga last summer,” Petrachi told Sky Sport Italia.

“[He] had asked to leave and Ateltico Madrid got him on the last day, leaving us unbalanced.

“This year we have a target, any sales will be sorted by 30 June.”

Petrachi then responded about the current group of players and if Matteo Darmian, in particular had asked to leave.

“No, neither he nor [Kamil] Glik or Bruno Peres [have requested a transfer].

“Darmian is already at a great team, he has proven his flexibility on the international stage and proved his worth.”
