Andrea Pirlo praised his teammates’ performance after their 2-1 first leg win against Real Madrid at the Juventus Stadium, on Tuesday night.
Juventus stormed to an early lead through Alvaro Morata. Cristiano Ronaldo managed to equalize before the break; but it was Carlos Tevez who scored the winner from the spot in the second half.
Pirlo was satisfied with his team’s play, and called his teammates to replicate tonight’s feat in order to secure qualification.
“We want to be in the final,” Pirlo said to Sky Sport Italia.
“We won the game tonight and now we must focus on the second leg.
“We must play with the same spirit and conviction as we did tonight. At the Santiago Bernabeu, we must play the same game.”
Juventus travel to Spain for the second leg next Wednesday and will hope Real Madrid’s away goal does not prove too much of a liability.
