Gino Pozzo has reassured Udinese fans that Watford’s promotion to the Premier League will not see more of the Zebrette’s key players head for London.

Pozzo, the son of the Italian businessman Giampaolo Pozzo who owns Udinese, Watford and Granada, has said that loaning out players to the Hornets represents an opportunity to develop players who are not getting enough chances at the Bianconeri.

“The collaboration with Watford has never diverted resources nor points from Udinese,” he told Udinese Channel.

“It has created growth opportunities for our players.

“Many of our players who we did not have space for in Udine, have found a new dimension at Watford which has allowed them to improve and demonstrate their value.

“There is a quality behind it all, because players who arrive to play for Udinese are the result of a careful selection.”
