Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly poised to trigger the release clause of AC Milan goalkeeper Diego Lopez.

The Spaniard has impressed during his debut season in Serie A with a string of commendable performances, but could see his stay cut short by a Parisian swoop in the summer.

PSG representatives have already met with Rossoneri vice president Adriano Galliani to confirm their interest, according to Cadena Cope.

In order to give current number one Salvatore Sirigu stern competition, Laurent Blanc’s side would be prepared to offer the €6 million needed to establish discussions with the stopper.

However, Milan chief Galliani is reportedly confident that the 33-year-old will show his commitment to the developing side by snubbing contract talks should a non-negotiable bid arrive.

Lopez spent 15 years in three separate divisions of Spanish football before his switch to Italy in 2014, where he has since made 28 Serie A appearances for Filippo Inzaghi’s team.
