Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira is set to undergo a medical in Turin ahead of his proposed move to Juventus.

The German international is expected to join the Bianconeri on a free transfer after being frozen out at Real since the start of 2015 since talks on a contract extension broke down.

Sky Sport Italia reports that the 28-year-old will fly into Turin later on Wednesday evening to undergo a medical either that night or on Thursday morning.

The midfielder is expected to sign a four-year contract worth around €4 million per season plus bonuses, and will officially complete his move when the transfer window opens.

Khedira joined Real from Stuttgart in 2010 and has won the Primera Division, Copa del Rey and Champions League during his time in Spain but has only featured for 296 minutes in the league this season as he suffered from minor injuries.

Juventus director general Beppe Marotta had already confirmed the club’s interest in Khedira, along with out of contract Fiorentina goalkeeper Norberto Neto.
