Following his side’s 1-1 draw away at Chievo, Atalanta coach Edy Reja analysed his side’s season since his arrival in March.

Reja also argued that the Dea must continue to produce good young players before allowing them to leave for larger clubs at a profit.

“Against AC Milan we want to finish our season in style,” said Reja to Sky Sport Italia.

“At home we must put in the right performance with the correct mentality and intensity. We want to thank our fans in the best way possible.

“During my time in Bergamo we have done well, even if we have lost many points due to goals conceded late in games.

“It’s a shame that we drew so many games, we have deserved a few more victories.

“At Lazio and Napoli I had experiences of fighting for the top places in the table, here it’s an entirely different proposition.

“However, I’ve not had any difficulties here because I’ve come from the bottom and the boys have given me a hand.”

Reja also answered questions about Daniele Baselli’s future and argued that Atalanta have to keep producing good young players in the knowledge that they will later leave.

“I don’t know [about Baselli’s future], Next week I will meet the president to discuss many different issues,” said Reja.

“Atalanta must launch the careers of good young players, history imposes that upon us.

“Me and the president will evaluate what to do for the future of many players and then the club will consider any eventual offers that come in.”
