Roma midfielders Alessandro Florenzi and Kevin Strootman took to Twitter to celebrate the Giallorossi’s 2-1 win over fierce rivals Lazio in the Derby della Capitale in Serie A on Monday evening.
A late headed goal by defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa won the game for the Giallorossi after Filip Djordjevic had equalized for the Biancocelesti with eight minutes remaining cancelling out Juan Iturbe opener on 73 minutes.
“La Grande Bellezza!” Florenzi wrote on his Twitter account referring to a Paolo Sorrentino film called The Great Beauty with a picture of the Roma players celebrating in front of the Curva Sud in the Stadio Olimpico.
“The derby win and that result, well done lads, Champions League here we come,” Strootman wrote on his Twitter account.
The three points secures the Giallorossi a second place finish in Serie A and automatic qualification for next seasons Champions League, while the Biancocelesti need at least a point against Napoli to finish third and a place in the preliminary rounds of the Champions League next season.
