Rudi Garcia is already planning for next season after the Giallorossi’s derby win against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday ensured that Roma qualified for the group stages of next season’s Champions League.

Roma’s poor form in the latter half of the season has seen the club drop points in 13 league matches in 2015 as well as exiting the Coppa Italia and Europa League at the hands of Fiorentina.

But four wins in their last five games has seen them stave off competition from bitter rivals Lazio as well as Napoli to ease the pressure on Garcia.

According to La Reppublica, the funds earned from qualification for Europe’s premier competition, thought to be in the region of €50 million, will be directly reinvested into strengthening the Giallorossi squad as they attempt to overhaul Juventus’ stranglehold on Italian football.

The French coach has already identified a goalkeeper as a priority target with the club rumoured to be monitoring the situation of Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic who is in the process of negotiating a new contract with the Nerazzurri.

The former Lille coach is also on the lookout for a full-back after last summer’s signing of Ashley Cole from Chelsea proved disappointing, whilst he will also try to reinforce his options in central defence with Leandro Castan certain to be out of action until at least September.

In addition he is attempting to bolster his attacking options with the Giallorossi scoring 19 goals fewer than in the last campaign despite the significant amount invested in Juan Manuel Iturbe.

If Juve get Darmian too and with Dybala and Khedira Roma must splash 60-70 mill to be even close to Juve. I don’t think Roma has the financial power before they get their new stadium.
