Sampdoria have reportedly been in contact with Olympique Marseille boss Marcelo Bielsa in recent days to discuss the possibility of him taking over for Sinisa Mihajlovic.

Mihajlovic will be making his exit from the Blucerchiati this summer which has caused the club to begin their hunt for someone qualified to take his position, and it seems like the Italian side is now apparently considering Bielsa for the position.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero has spoken to the Argentinian tactician about possibly taking the helm of the Genoese side, but has not guaranteed anything due to his interest in a few other candidates.

Despite the contact with the Olympiens coach, some reports still suggest that former Inter and La Samp goalkeeper Walter Zenga is seen as the favourite to lead the club next season and claim that an agreement is apparently already in the works.

Bielsa led Marseille to a fourth place finish in Ligue 1 during the 2014-15 campaign and helped them to a 3-0 victory over Bastia in their final game of the season on May 23.
