Eusebio Di Francesco SassuoloSassuolo coach Eusebio Di Francesco declared himself satisfied after the 0-0 draw with Palermo.

In a game which neither side really had anything to play for and with chances few and far between, Di Francesco was happy that his side approached the game with the right attitude.

”Since January we have had some difficult times,” Di Francesco told Sky Sport Italia after the game.

”The defence hasn’t had any stability and today I had to throw in [Leonardo] Fontanesi, who was making his debut for the club, so we had a game plan but I was more interested in performance and the attitude of the players.

“It was good to see someone like Simone Zaza, who hasn’t been on his game lately or worked hard enough, working for the team tonight and was always looking for that opening.

“The players must always think of the team first.”

Di Francesco is under pressure after a series of poor results, but he insisted that he would fight for the cause and hoped the club would keep him on.

”I will meet with the club soon to talk about my future,” he said. “I believe in the work I am doing here and I am not thinking about anything else I am only thinking of Sassuolo.”
