Roma forward Gervinho has had the results of his medical tests back and the Ivorian will miss the rest of the season.

Only recently restored to the Giallorossi starting line-up after injury, the former Arsenal man left the field after just half an hour of the defeat to AC Milan.

After being sent to undergo tests, Roma released a statement on their official website stating, “Gervinho has been found to have suffered a minor strain to his hamstring and has started treatment.”

It is all but certain that he will miss the final three games of the season including next weekend’s crucial Rome derby.

Gervinho has endured an inconsistent season for Rudi Garcia’s side. After beginning the campaign in good form, he missed the early part of 2015 to take part in the successful Ivorian African Cup of Nations campaign, but only managed six appearances on his return before a spell out injured with a previous hamstring strain.
