AC Milan legend Andriy Shevchenko has discussed the protracted sale of the club by owner Silvio Berlusconi, whilst maintaining that he remains a fan of the Rossoneri.

Talks are ongoing between Berlusconi and Thai businessman Bee Taechaubal, but Shevchenko is confident that the former has Milan’s best interests at heart.

The Ukrainian told Sky Sport Italia, “The decision remains with the president, as always he will do what is best for the club. Milan without Berlusconi? I do not know what will happen but I hope he will always remain there. I hope he can find the funds to remain and help Milan back on its feet.”

Shevchenko spent seven highly successful years playing upfront in his first spell with the Rossoneri and admits that the club remains close to his heart.

“Milan will always remain my home. I am a fan of the team and always hope for the best for Milan.”
