Andrea Stramaccioni spoke about his hopes of retaining Antonio Di Natale for next season, following Udinese’s 1-0 home loss to Sassuolo on Sunday afternoon.

Udinese had the better of the game against Sassuolo, but were undone by a second-half Francesco Magnanelli goal.

Despite the loss, Stramaccioni focused most of his post-match comments on the reported potential departure of Di Natale however.

“Things turned wrong in the end for us,” Stramaccioni said to Sky Sport Italia.

“We had the better of the chances but congratulations to Sassuolo’s goalkeeper and Magnanelli.

“I hope it was not Di Natale’s last game here. He knows how much I respect him and the fact is that he played 33 games this year.

“I will be waiting his decision and it is only right that it come from him first.”
