Torino star Kamil Glik has insisted he will not become the latest big name player who the club cash in on during the summer transfer market.

Last summer, two of the club’s most influential players Alessio Cerci and Ciro Immobile were moved on to Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund respectively but the Polish defender is adamant that he has no plans to follow their lead.

In a somewhat self-effacing interview with Toro News – on their 10th anniversary – he said: “I am not at the level of players like Thiago Silva or others but I always try to give my best for the shirt.

“In the last few years I have grown a lot and the credit for that can only be given to Giampiero Ventura. He is definitely my father figure in football. He has made me grow as both a player and a man.

“I can only thank him for what he has did for me and the whole club. I feel very happy in Turin. Myself and my family have spent four wonderful years here filled with rich emotions.

“On my future, I have two more years left on my contract and I will respect them. As I have said on other occasions, at the end of the season it is the time to sit down and decide things.”
