Tottenham Hotspur will attempt to hijack Mohamed Salah’s transfer from Chelsea to Fiorentina during the summer transfer window.

Salah joined the Viola on loan from Chelsea as part of Juan Cuadrado’s €33 million move from Fiorentina to the West London club, with the 22-year-old settling immediately at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

According to ESPN, Tottenham are hoping to convince Salah to return to England during the summer with a move across the city to North London.

The former Basel winger is unlikely to return to Chelsea where he made just three Premier League appearances this season for the recently crowned Premier League champions.

Fiorentina defeated Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 on aggregate to progress to the last 16 of this season’s Europa League, with Salah scoring the second goal during the 2-0 second leg home win.

The Egypt international has scored four goals in 11 league appearances for Fiorentina since making his debut in a 3-2 win over Atalanta.
