Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that the Premier League side would be interested in signing Juventus star Arturo Vidal this summer but insisted that there are yet to be any talks with the player.

The 28-year-old, whose current deal with the Bianconeri is set to expire in June 2017, has been linked with a possible move to several clubs including Manchester United for awhile now, though the Gunners could be the new favourites to land him now that their coach has confirmed his interest in the Chilean international.

Wenger spoke during a recent press conference ahead of Arsenal’s FA Cup final clash with Aston Villa, which will take place on May 30, about the English club’s feelings towards Vidal, as well as Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, and claimed that he’ll only focus on transfer situations after Saturday’s match is over.

“If I told you that I like Arturo Vidal, then you would immediately write that we’ve signed him,” said the 65-year-old.

“If you want to know if I like him, then I’ll tell you yes, this is true. But are we dealing with his transfer at the moment? No.

“Benzema? We are not yet working on the market, we’ll deal with these things after the FA Cup final.

“So for now everything you hear is just a rumour. Does anyone know if there is any truth to some of these reports? I don’t know.”
