West Ham are in pole position to sign Cagliari’s young midfield dynamo Godfred Donsah in the summer.
The 18-year-old Ghanaian international has been one of the few bright spots in a dismal campaign for the Sardinian club, and will certainly leave in the summer with Cagliari having been relegated to Serie B.
The Daily Mail report that West Ham are leading the race against their more esteemed opposition such as Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester City and Manchester United.
Recently crowned Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven have also been monitoring Donsah, but it is reported that the Hammers have the inside edge so far in the hunt.
Donsah has made 21 appearances for Cagliari this season, netting two goals.
