Have only secured their first ever top flight promotion last weekend, Frosinone have moved quickly to ensure that their facilities will meet Serie A requirements when the new season kicks off in August.

The Canarini have previously been playing their home matches at the Stadio Matusa, but they are now set to move to the Stadio Casaleno, another ground in the city, which is set to undergo extensive construction work over the close season.

“From Monday the successful tenders will be able to enter the second phase of work, which will proceed in a very brisk manner,” enthused Mayor Nicola Ottaviani as he confirmed that the municipal authorities had approved a €4 million refurbishment plan which is to be complete for the start of next season.

Construction on the Stadio Casaleno was originally started in the 1980s but due to financial mismanagement and bureaucratic holdups it was never fully completed. However, the new found success of Frosinone means that the city may finally have a new 13,000 capacity venue.
