AC Milan are continuing to track the situation of Shakhtar Donetsk striker Luiz Adriano, but face strong competition for the Brazilian’s signature.

The 28-year-old forward has long been on the radar of Europe’s prestigious football clubs, with Roma the last Serie A club to register a strong interest.

Now the Rossoneri have begun courting Luiz Adriano according to Gazzetta dello Sport but will certainly have an uphill task on their hands.

Luiz Adriano has spent eight seasons in Ukraine but is coming to the end of his contract which expires in December, with his wage demands believed to be €4m a season.

Milan may try to lure the striker to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza this summer, but must first see off both Spartak Moscow and Anzhi Makhachkala.

Should Milan fail in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic then it’s likely they will turn to Luiz Adriano as an alternative.

Luiz Adriano scored 21 goals in 31 appearances for the Ukrainian side last season.
