AC Milan will face sturdy competition in the race to sign former Parma midfielder Jose Mauri.
The Rossoneri have been keeping tabs on the 19-year-old for some time now, but will have to compete with a host of teams to secure his services.
According to MilanNews.it, club vice-president Adriano Galliani is desperate to strike a deal with Mauri, in a bid to ward off interest from fellow Serie A side Fiorentina.
It is reported the Stadio Meazza outfit are hoping to acquire the once Ducali prodigy on a free transfer, after he was released by Parma following its demotion to Serie D.
Rumours also suggest the Argentine-born Italian will likely be given a four-year contract by the Rossoneri, if an agreement can be made with his agent.
Mauri accumulated 32 league appearances last season, scoring two goals and laying on a further two assists in the process.
