AC Milan midfielder Michael Essien will have a medical with Greek giants Panathinaikos on Monday, if reports are to be believed.
The 32-year-old Ghanaian international has been sparsely used by coach Filippo Inzaghi this year and will be allowed to leave the club when his current deal expires at the end of June.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Essien is ready for a new experience and is booked to land in Athens on Monday for some physical examinations with Panathinaikos.
The midfielder has struggled with injury problems for a number of years now, and the Rossoneri have decided not to keep him as they attempt to revolutionize the squad after a disappointing season.
Essien only made 13 appearances for Milan this season.
