AC Milan set to announce contract renewal for midfielder

De Jong - AC MilanAC Milan midfielder Nigel de Jong is set to extend his stay at the Stadio Meazza and sign a new contract with the club, with his current deal set to expire at the end of June.

The Dutch enforcer has been with the Milanese giants since signing from Manchester City in 2012 in a deal worth up to €8 million, signing a three-year contract.

According to TuttoMercatWeb.com, the 30-year-old has been offered a new and improved bonus incentivised two-year deal, and an announcement is expected in the next 48 hours to confirm the re-signing De Jong.

De Jong has become a fans favourite during his time at the club and the possible re-signing will be a huge boost for AC Milan as they look to re-construct their side under new boss Sinisa Mihajlovic.

The Dutchman has made 60 Serie A appearances for the club, scoring on five occasions since his move from the English Premier League.
