Paulo Afonso, agent of Barcelona defender Adriano, has revealed that this client may be open to a possible Roma move this summer in order to secure more minutes on the pitch.

The 30-year-old, whose current contract with Barca is set to expire in June 2017, hasn’t been completely satisfied with his amount of playing time as of late and would be looking to start a new chapter of his career elsewhere, with the pursuing Giallorossi seen as a likely destination based on the Brazilian’s requirements.

Afonso spoke to El Mundo Deportivo about his client’s situation at Barcelona and commented on what he would like to do during the 2015-16 season.

“Adriano has had a wonderful time at Barcelona, where he helped write a piece of history,” said the agent.

“However, he wants to play more. He needs more minutes on the pitch and this could cause him to leave.

“We are listening to offers and once we receive one that’s appealing, we’ll meet with the Barca executives to work out an agreement that can make everyone happy.

“Adriano is grateful for everything Barca has given him over the years. The two key requirements to his move are that he wants to play more minutes and wants to play in the Champions League.”
