Gilardino - Palermo v FiorentinaFiorentina forward Alberto Gilardino looks to be on the move after just half a season with the Viola as newly-promoted Carpi are said to be very interested in the striker’s services.

The 32-year-old just recently moved to Florence in January on a loan deal from Chinese Super League team Guangzhou Evergrande but the Viola are rumored to have decided to not to extend his stay in Florence.

Sky Sport Italia are reporting that Carpi’s new sporting director Sean Sogliano is pondering a move for the 32-year-old that would be reminiscent of his work to bring Luca Toni to Hellas Verona.

Gilardino is said to be wary of the move to the Emilia-Romagna side, but Sogliano still dreams of bringing Gilardino to Carpi on loan with the right to make the deal permanent included in the contract.

Gilardino made 14 appearances and scored four goals during his second spell with Fiorentina.
