Hull City striker Abel Hernandez has given his approval to a move that would see him join Serie A side Chievo.
The Mussi Volanti have fought off interest from the likes of Torino and Bologna to gain the Uruguayan forward’s signature.
La Gazzetta Dello Sport reveals that a deal was struck between the player’s representatives and the Gialloblu at a meeting in Milan last week, for a move that would initially see Hernandez transfer back to Italy on loan.
A fee of around €800,000 is set to secure the former Palermo man for a season, with a further €8-10 million due if Rolando Maran’s side wish to keep the forward, who was part of Uruguay’s Copa America squad this summer.
Hernandez endured something of a nightmare in Hull after his club record transfer last summer, scoring just four goals for the Tigers as they were relegated from the English Premier League.
