Chievo defender Ervin Zukanovic could be set to complete a move to Inter on Monday after the club confirmed negotiations are coming to a close.
The Bosnian fullback has been a long-term transfer target for the Biscione and is expected to arrive as part of a deal that will see Ezequiel Schelotto make a permanent switch to the Stadio Bentegodi.
“There are still a few details to work out regarding the impasse around Schelotto and Zukanovic,” Chievo director of sport Luca Nember told L’Arena newspaper.
“The economics aspects of the deal still have to be fixed, although Inter started asking about the defender three months ago.
“I am still waiting and keeping in mind that there are other clubs interested in Zukanovic too.
“However, it’s very unlikely that he will remain at Chievo.
“Other options are also complicated, as Inter are offering him some very favourable terms.
“I think and hope that we can close the deal with Inter on Monday.”
Chievo officially exercised their option to sign Zukanovic on a permanent basis from Gent for €1 million earlier this month after he arrived on loan for the 2014-15 season.
