Chievo are lining up a moveĀ for Hull City striker Abel Hernandez as the Uruguayan gets ready to leave the club following their relegation to the Championship.

The 24-year-old spent five seasons in Italy with Palermo but moved to Humberside last season where he was presented as their record signing, joining on a three year deal with the option of a fourth, although it now seems that his stay will be somewhat brief.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, both Genoa and Sampdoria had been eyeing up a move for Hernandez but the Flying Donkeys are now intent on taking him to the Bentegodi on a season long loan deal.

It is thought that Hernandez will be given the choice between the three clubs as to where he wants to go.

Should Chievo fail to tempt the Hull City striker, then they will move for either Catania’s Emanuele Calaio or Andrea Cocco of Vicenza.

Total waste of time at City, too slow for EPL. Should be alright back in Italia, game is slower and less physical.
