Lazio defender Stefan De Vrij has revealed his delight about his successful debut season in Serie A.
De Vrij appeared to be one of the most promising prospects of Lazio last season, helping the Biancocelesti to finish the Serie A season in a prized Champions League place, and has found joy in evaluating his season.
“I think I have made a great step forward in Serie A in my debut season,” De Vrij told De Telegraaf.
“People say I’ve changed my style of play since moving to Italy, which is almost true.
“I analyse my performance in every game, as I can correct mistakes in the next games.
“Dirk Kuyt, Robin Van Persie, Wesley Sneijder and Arjen Robben all told me that you can learn many things while playing abroad. I am feeling the truth on those words at this moment.”
The Dutch defender also exclaimed about the importance of his role in the national team.
“I have never considered myself as a special talent, but my 25+ caps at the age of just 23 make me feel so special.”
