Luigi Di Biagio ItalyItaly Under-21 coach Luigi Di Biagio has said his side are capable of qualifying for the semi-finals of the European Under-21 Championship.

The Azzurrini face the youngsters of England on Wednesday in a game where they need to win.

Failure to win will mean the five-time champions will be eliminated from the competition; but Di Biagio has envisaged a sharing of the points between the two sides.

“I think it will be a draw, and if it is then it will be a natural thing,” the 44-year-old told the press.

“The problem we have is that we are on the edge of elimination but we can also qualify.”

Di Biagio was positive on the team’s potential, though, stating that if Italy were to play the same way they did as in the 0-0 draw with the Portuguese, then the Azzurrini can make it through.

“England have players of high quality, but if we play like we did against Portugal then we can do it.”
