Fiorentina want defender Jose Basanta to stay at the club, amid interest from Mexican outfit Club Leon.
The 31-year-old Argentinian international enjoyed a good debut season in Florence after moving from Monterrey last summer, establishing himself as a regular under the now-sacked Vincenzo Montella.
Sky Sport Italia report that Fiorentina have received a request from Club Leon in the past few days, expressing an interest in bringing Basanta to Mexico.
The Viola for the time being want to keep the hard-nosed defender, and have spurned the advances of the North American club.
Club Leon are also targeting Lazio center back Diego Novaretti, who has struggled for form and fitness during his time in the capital.
Basanta made 36 appearances for Fiorentina in all competitions this season.
