Fiorentina could yet make a permanent move for Alessandro Diamanti, currently on loan from Guangzhou Evergrande, depending on who becomes coach.

The Viola parted ways with tactician Vincenzo Montella on Tuesday to bring an end to the 40-year-old’s three year spell in charge of the side and it could have a positive effect on Diamanti, who has struggled to establish himself during his loan spell.

According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Diamanti could yet have a future with the Viola however it will ultimately depend on who is appointed as the new boss.

The former Italy international found himself back in Serie A in January this year after opting to move to Chinese Super League outfit Guangzhou Evergrande and was a member of the squad that won the title in 2014. On the international stage he was part of the Azzurri side that reached the final of Euro 2012.
