Former Parma goalkeeper’s move to Bologna all but finalised

Antonio Mirante - ParmaEx-Parma goalkeeper Antonio Mirante has agreed to join Bologna following a brief spell as a free agent after the Crociati’s bankruptcy, although he is yet to formally put pen to paper.

The 31-year-old’s agent Silvano Martina announced that the shot-stopper was impressed by the Rossoblu’s ambitious project and the prospect of living in the city.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Mirante met with Bologna representatives in Milan and agreed to sign a three year contract.

“He [Mirante] still hasn’t signed yet but we have shaken hands with the Felsinei,” said the player’s agent Martina.

“He chose Bologna because it’s a great city and the club has a good future ahead of it.

“The Rossoblu have a serious project planned thanks to the work of president [Joe Tacopina] sat in the stands and because of all these reasons we chose Bologna.”

Mirante featured 33 times and conceded 60 goals during the 2014-15 Serie A season as Parma finished bottom of the table.

The goalkeeper was previously linked with the likes of Sampdoria, Trabzonspor and Fiorentina before opting to move to the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.
