Andrea Stramaccioni UdineseAndrea Stramaccioni has reportedly refused the chance to get straight back into football after having been relieved of his duties with Udinese at the end of last season.

The 39-year-old tactician had an excellent start to his career with the Zebrette but could only manage an eventual 16th place finish in Serie A and has since been replaced by ex-Atalanta boss Stefano Colantuono.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Stramaccioni was asked to take over the Azzurrini from Luigi Di Biagio, who recently failed to get the Italians through the group stages of the European Championship competition, currently being held in the Czech Republic.

He had also been offered the post at Greek side Olympiacos, but the former Inter coach has turned down both opportunities, preferring to take a year off and to evaluate any other jobs that may come his way in the future.
