Inter are edging closer to the signing of Galatasaray midfield general Felipe Melo, who is keen to reunite with former boss Roberto Mancini.

The 31-year-old Brazilian international has one year left on his current deal, and Melo’s agent his week confirmed that there has been contact with the Nerazzurri.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that a 5 million deal is edging closer by the day as Inter struggle to snare their first choice targets: Paris Saint-Germain’s Thiago Motta and Manchester City’s Yaya Toure.

Monaco star Geoffrey Kondogbia is also interesting the Nerazzurri, but they are hesitant to meet the French club’s 30 million asking price, as Arsenal also linger.

Chelsea youngster Mario Pasalic, on loan at Elche this season, has also emerged as a possible loan target as Inter aim to strengthen for next season.
