Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has reportedly reached an agreement with the side to extend his contract.

The Slovenian’s contract, due to expire next year, has been the source of strong transfer rumours linking the player elsewhere, but an official announcement could put an end to the uncertainty.

According to CorriereDelloSport, the 30-year-old’s agent struck the deal with Nerazzurri president Erick Thohir on Tuesday.

Reports place the new contract as running until 2019, with an annual salary of €3 million euros per year, a substantial improvement on his current deal.

The penalty specialist has 108 Serie A appearances to his name for Inter, since his move to the club from Udinese in 2012.

Handanovic has been linked with Manchester United, Valencia and also Inter’s Serie A rivals Roma in recent weeks.

An official club announcement is expected in the coming days.
