Juventus and Roma have entered the chase for Chelsea’s attacking midfielder Mohamed Salah with a return to Italy likely for the unsettled player.

The 23-year-old Egyptian spent the second half of last season on loan at Fiorentina, after joining the Viola on loan from Chelsea as part of Juan Cuadrado’s €33 million move from Florence to the West London club, with the 22-year-old settling immediately at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Gazzetta TV are reporting Serie A’s top two are following the situation of the vigilant attacker, although continuing his time in Tuscany is also a possibility given an 18-month loan deal was agreed between Fiorentina and Chelsea.

However, Fiorentina would have to spend another €1 million to keep Salah at the club for next season, before shelling out the agreed buy-out clause figure of €18 million in the summer of 2016, although the player can veto any move if he wishes.

It is thought that Salah is weighing up his options given Fiorentina recently sacked coach Vincenzo Montella and a successor is yet to be appointed.

The Egypt international scored nine goals in 26 appearances for Fiorentina since making his debut during a 3-2 win over Atalanta in February.
