Juventus could turn to Belgian international Axel Witsel as a replacement for Paul Pogba, in the event of the Frenchman leaving Turin.

The Bianconeri midfielder has been the centre of increased transfer speculation this summer, with Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Barcelona all keen on his services.

Juventus have alternatives in mind should the French international eventually depart and Tuttomercatoweb.com say that top of the list is Zenit Saint Petersburg’s Witsel.

The 26-year-old is said to want to move to play in a more competitive league but it is yet to be seen if anyone will match the €40 million valuation set by the Russian champions for the midfielder.

The news will likely worry AC Milan with Sky Sport Italia previously reporting that the Rossoneri’s vice-president Adriano Galliani has been in talks with Witsel over a proposed move.

Having lost out to city rivals Inter in the battle for Geoffrey Kondogbia’s signature, Milan could be anxious to get a deal done for the former Benfica midfielder as quickly as possible.
